Since I was seven years old, my favorite movie of all time has always been Legend, and I’ve always wanted a reproduction of the ring Lily wears at the beginning of the movie (that she throws into the pond for Jack to dive in and get), and I’ve done a number of fan art pieces of this ring over the years (in fact, one of my earliest 3D models, sometime in the late 90’s—done in Bryce, of all things—was a very rudimentary version of this ring).

But it wasn’t until the release of the Blu-Ray that I was able to fully see all the details of the ring—including the fact that the moonstone actually has a little face carved into it! So of course, as soon as I saw all those new details, I immediately opened Blender and started modeling it. I was actually working on a full scene including the frozen-over pond and the cherry blossom petals flying all over, but I’ll have to come back to that at some point when I have more time to work on it.
